The COMSOL Multiphysics® software platform, together with the add-on Corrosion Module, provide a wide range of features dedicated to modeling corrosion processes, taking into account various physical phenomena, such as species transport mechanisms in the electrolyte or electrochemical reactions occurring at electrolyte-metal interfaces. Specialized functionality is also available to facilitate the modeling of corrosion protection devices, such as systems based on sacrificial anodes or impressed current.

In this webinar, we will illustrate the modeling capabilities of the COMSOL Multiphysics® software with examples of galvanic corrosion and cathodic protection. We will show how multiphysics simulation can help engineers better predict and understand corrosion processes and design effective protection systems.

Skanda N Prasad currently works as a technology specialist at COMSOL's India office. He holds a master's degree in computational mechanics from the University of Duisburg-Essen, where he was also a research assistant. His prior experience also includes research in the aerospace department at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
